Executive Director: Job Invitation

The British Columbia Library Trustees Association (BCLTA), founded in 1977, is a not-for-profit society and a registered charity. This status positions BCLTA as a unique and valuable trustee membership-driven service in the BC public library community. As the professional association of the trustees governing public libraries across British Columbia, the purpose of BCLTA is to support and represent trustees. See bclta.ca for more information.

The BCLTA Board of Directors is seeking an Executive Director with experience in the not-for-profit or public sector that includes a demonstrated understanding of partnership building, fund development, and advocacy. Relevant post-secondary education will be considered an asset.

BCLTA is a thriving professional association with an annual budget of under $100,000 and a small committed staff that includes a part-time Bookkeeper and a part-time Director for Communications and Engagement. The Executive Director will manage the budget and provide oversight of the operations while working respectfully and collaboratively with the other independently contracted staff.

This position is ideal for a highly collaborative and self-directed individual who thrives with the challenges and benefits of independent contract work and enjoys not having to go to an office. The position requires an ability to work remotely using tools such as Zoom, the occasional travel within BC, and flexible hours.

This is a 30 hours per month position with the possibility for increased hours aligned with board needs and increased revenues through grants and fund development.

Interested applicants are asked to email Babs Kelly at execdir@bclta.ca for a detailed job description and with any questions regarding the hiring process.

The BCLTA thanks all applicants for their interest. We will only be contacting shortlisted candidates.

The posting will remain open until filled.
