BCLTA Awards 2020

BCLTA is pleased to announce the following recipients of BCLTA Awards that were announced at the 2020 AGM.

Judith Walton received the BCLTA Trustee Excellence Award. Among the many words of appreciation from her nominators at the Pemberton Public Library was high praise for Judith’s focus, diligence, and commitment to doing the work that was needed. The nomination closed with “Even though Judith can’t serve on our board anymore her presence is still felt through the procedures and practices she put in place during her tenure.”

Bevin Heath Ansley received the BCLTA Trustee Excellence Award for her work with the Whistler Public Library Board. Her nominators noted that Bevin brought a “refreshing professional perspective” to her board work and that as board chair she “played a significant role in motivating and inspiring others to visibly advocate for and financially support the library”. As vice-chair, Bevin “continues to provide her expertise, insights, and support to our board.”

Anni Holtby received the BCLTA Nancy Bennett Governance Merit Award. Anni was nominated for her work with the Kootenay Library Federation and her nominators wrote that “her personal warmth, positive communication style, and enthusiasm for governance has contributed to her effective leadership” that among many things “deepened the commitment of member library board representatives”.

Congratulations and thank you Judith, Bevin and Anni!
