Emergency Preparedness and Recovery

The BCLTA has engaged Melanie Reaveley and Kaitlyn Vecchio to design and deliver a process that is highly consultative with trustees, library directors, and partners and a package that will include, but is not limited to background information, check-lists, and policy templates. This package will be made available through the BCLTA website for all to use.

How This Project Will Be Valuable to Governance Teams

This project will support boards and library directors in sharing knowledge, developing policy and guidelines, and strengthening role clarity. In this way boards and library directors will be confident in how to work together to support the library and community during an emergency, to minimize service disruption, and to best protect the safety of staff and patrons.

What Will be Included in the Package?
  • Emergency Preparedness and Recovery backgrounder document
  • Emergency Preparedness and Recovery Board Policy template
  • Emergency Preparedness Plan template
